Decide where the heat will go
A portable air conditioner moves heat out of the space being cooled. On typical domestic models, the supplied exhaust hose and window kit are part of that process. A unit running without its required exhaust arrangement can send the heat straight back into the room. Plan the route before choosing a position.
Use the supplied arrangement
Olimpia Splendid advises keeping the exhaust hose as short and straight as possible and not adding extra hose lengths. Follow the selected model’s manual rather than improvising an extension or venting into a ceiling void.
Allow for condensate and access
Humidity and operating conditions affect water collection. Check whether your model uses a tank, self-evaporation or a specified continuous-drain arrangement. Keep the unit level and provide the clearances stated in its instructions. The power supply, drainage and access requirements of industrial or spot-cooling equipment may differ from a domestic portable AC.
